Whispers
Anilore's piece Whispers (Murmûrs) is a captivating sound sculpture that engages both the eyes and ears. The installation can be experienced in the North of France at the Arromanches Museum.
These murmurs transform shadows into luminous silhouettes. They whisper to the walls, speaking words that soothe wounds. They echo the murmurs of our cities—hopes and fears, intertwined destinies. The sculpture reveals twelve sequential sound panels arranged in a loop. As visitors get closer to the four-meter-high installation, sensors are triggered and through hidden speakers, continuously whispers the sounds of a peaceful nature silenced by war. As an echo to each sound, the artist wanted to highlight the voices of figures who spoke out for peace: as Charlie Chaplin, Henry Miller, Renzo Piano, Martin Luther King, Albert Einstein, Simone Veil, Dalai Lama, Emmanuel Levinas, Joan Baez, Jacques Prevert, Le Pere Dominique Pire and Rene Cassin.
"Listen to these voices—so human, so true. The artist whispers in your ear." Whispers is a journey of immersive, natural sounds. It is a study of post-war recovery, reminiscent of birdsong returning after the clamor of war fades into the past. It reminds us of the often-overlooked aspects of our daily lives.
