The series “The Free Women” reinterprets iconic sculptures from our collective memory such as Bourdelle’s The Archer, Giacometti’s The Walking Man, and Rodin’s The Thinker through female bronze figures that exist somewhere between the distant past and the cosmic future. By reimagining these poses, historically associated with authority, reflection, power, and responsibility through the bodies of women, the work feminizes the Universal and challenges our cultural biases.
